Mom is progressing. It is a very slow progression but she is progressing. The staff turned off the ventilator for about an hour today to see how she would handle things and did pretty well. They decided to turn it back on and let her rest some more and try again later today and again tomorrow. She is still sedated between attempts but was alert even more than yesterday and was able again to signal with her nods a yes or no and even drew the word hot in Mark's hand. She remembered that we had visited her yesterday so that is a good sign also.
Progress is progress. Slow as it is it is a good thing.

I am so glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. Thank you so much for posting these optimistic updates. We are all praying much. Please give her kisses from the Craythorns!
